Flexigons + Magic Wallets With Renowned Book Artists, Esther K. Smith

Description

Math meets art at this exciting MFTA workshop with artist, Esther K. Smith. Sign up today! Esther will share two projects from the toy section of her book, "Magic Books & Paper Toys."

Artists, crafters, teachers, and kids of all ages can enjoy these intriguing projects. Easy to make and hypnotic to play with the flexagons and the magic wallet are created by employing squares, triangles and the moebius strip to put these projects in action!
Feel free to bring your favorite collage materials or rubber stamps to embellish your pieces.

Guest Artist: Esther Smith

Esther K Smith is the author of MAGIC BOOKS & PAPER TOYS, HOW TO MAKE BOOKS, and THE PAPER BRIDE. She collaborates with typographer Dikko Faust and other artists and writers at Purgatory Pie Press. They have had solo exhibitions at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, London's V&A, Harvard, RISD and Smith College. Their works are in the permanent collections of MoMA, the Whitney, London's Tate and the National Gallery of Art.
