Mobiles and Windchimes

Description
An artistic endeavor, a musical instrument, a study in mass, a kinesthetic creation - what else can mobiles be be? Explore balance and the science of sound through items readily found in homes and schools, as we study mobiles, wind chimes, and whirly gigs as tools for the classroom. This workshop is part of the Creative Infusion Workshop Series.
Withdrawal Policy:
If you need to withdraw from a workshop you may do so up to one week before the class begins (7 days) and receive 75% of the class cost back. Withdrawals falling within 7 days previous to the workshop will result in no refund.
Registration is open until all seats are filled. If you register for a class within the 7 days before the class begins you will not be able to receive a refund if you decide to withdraw.
Guest Artists
Joy SuarezJoy Suarez has over twenty years experience as a teaching artist and educator. After graduating from Florida State University with a degree in Anthropology, Joy moved to New York City, building a strong career designing and implementing programs and curricula for educational organizations including the Children’s Museum of Manhattan, New York City Housing Authority, New York City Department of Education, The Fashion Center, Children for Children and the Lower Eastside Girls Club. Joy has been Friends of Materials for the Arts' (FOMA) lead teaching artist designing and conducting workshops for art educators since 1995. Joy’s other full time passion is working with her partner Louie Miranda in Jerry Joy Music where together they co-write and co-produce studio recordings of their own brand of informational music that is for children and their families to grow with. Currently they have six CD recordings. Louie performs their music nationwide.
